About
Built by a recruiter, for the people on the other side of it.
Careers in HR is one person, one market, and a deliberate decision not to grow past the point where the person behind it can still be useful to you personally.
Who is behind this
Jeff Teale
Recruiter. Founder of Careers in HR.
I have spent my career on the hiring side of HR, which means I have read a very large number of CVs written by people who were better than the page suggested.
That is the gap Careers in HR exists to close. Not another job board and not a tool that writes your positioning for you — a clear view of what is actually out there, and a way to work out what you have to say for yourself, in your own words, so it holds up in the room.
Anyone who joins, I want to know. This is small enough that I can still help personally, and that is deliberate — the plan is not to grow until that stops being true.
Why it exists
Too many good people are worse on paper than in the room.
That is the pattern you notice from the hiring side, over and over: someone excellent whose CV undersells them, applying into a market so scattered they cannot tell what is actually available. Both ends of that are fixable, and neither is fixed by writing the CV for them.
What it will not do
Nothing here writes your positioning for you.
It would be easy to build, and it is what most of this category now does. But the only version worth having is the one you can defend when someone asks a follow-up question — and generated text falls apart at exactly that moment. So the sessions ask, and you answer.
Small on purpose
Anyone who joins, I want to know.
This is small enough that it is still possible to help personally, and the plan is not to grow until that stops being true. If you join and something is not working, the person who built it is the person who will read your email.

The market view is the fastest way to judge whether any of this is useful to you.
